LOCK HAVEN – The Clearfield Babe Ruth League 13-Year-Old All-Stars won two of four games to place third in the seven-team District 8 Tournament hosted by the Keystone League last weekend.
The losses were to eventual champion West End of Williamsport 19-8 in six innings Friday evening and to runner-up State College 10-5 in the elimination bracket final Sunday evening.
Sandwiched in between were down-to-the-wire elimination bracket victories over Potter/McKean 8-6 and Altoona 22-21.
Zach Krise and Logan Puit were the winning pitchers.
State College forced an extra game by defeating West End 14-1, but the Williamsport team bounced back to claim the championship by overcoming a seven-run deficit with a nine-run rally in the sixth inning to prevail 12-10.
