Programs Announced for July 16 – 17 at Sinnemahoning State Park

AUSTIN – A pair of programs “Traveling Minstrels: Pennsylvania’s Songbirds” and “Interpretive Pontoon Boat Tours” have been announced for next Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17, respectively at the Sinnemahoning State Park.

Saturday, July 16

Traveling Minstrels: Pennsylvania’s Songbirds

8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Join the park naturalist at the campground amphitheater for a presentation and short video on Pennsylvania’s neo-tropical migratory songbirds. Learn about the birds that nest in the park and where you are most likely to see them.

Sunday, July 17

Interpretive Pontoon Boat Tours

Join the park naturalist for a relaxing and informative 45-minute tour of the George B. Stevenson Reservoir. This program focuses on the plants and wildlife of lake and wetland habitats.

The pontoon boat has 18 available seats. Cost is $2 per person, and children 5 and under ride for free. Advance reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the park office at 814-647-8401.

You may also sign up until noon at the park office or at the Eagle Watch Station near boat launch area up until the time of departure. Rides begin at noon, 1:30p.m. and 3:00 p.m. All participants should meet at the Boat Launch Area.
