SATTERLEE MAKES DOG HOLLOW RETURN A WINNING ONE

STRONGSTOWN, PA – Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills returned to Dog Hollow Speedway for the first time this season and walked away with the Scanlon Chiropractic Trophy in the Townsend Gas and Oil Super Late Model feature Friday night at Dog Hollow Speedway.

Troy Shields of Acme copped his first ever Stoystown Auto Wreckers Fastrak Late Models and Eric Ager of Nicktown picked up his career first win in the Brush Valley Tire Pure Stocks.

Repeat winners included: Nick Goss of Punxsutawney in the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Street Stocks, Wild Bill Hassenplug in the Four Cylinder Sidewinders and Bob Pease of Blairsville remained undefeated in the Modified Four Cylinders.

In the Super Late Models Mike Blose and John Britsky led the field to the start with Blose taking the lead and Britsky in second. As they set the early pace, Clate Copeman held third as Sammy Stile, Shane McMeans and Gregg Satterlee fought for third. On lap six Stile took second away from Britsky as Satterlee relieved him of third on lap seven.

With Stile in second Blose continued to lead but on lap 11, Stile lost second to a hard charging Satterlee who set his sights on Blose.
As the leaders were encountering another caution, Satterlee was all over Blose, then on lap 11 Satterlee was able to get the lead after a door-to-door battle with Blose that ended up with Blose losing several positions. As the checkered flag waved, it was all Satterlee with Steve Everhart closing in second, Stile held on to third, Blose was fifth and Copeman was fifth. Heat wins went to Britsky and McMeans.

Troy Shields beat Brian Lessley off the line to start the Fastrak Late Model feature and held the field of 24-cars off the entire distance. As Shields led, Lesley, Joe Moyer and Tommy Snyder battled for second , before Snyder nailed down the position and set his sights on leader Shields. Mike Laughard and Andrew Satterlee also got into the mix, but when Kevin Smyers threw the checkered flag it was Shields getting his career first Dog Hollow win. Snyder, Satterlee, Andrew Wylie and Jeremy Zufall completed the top five. Heat wins were split between Shields, Snyder and Laughard.

David Rocker beat Nick Goss into the first turn to start the Street Stock feature, with Rocker and the pair ran side-by-side the first four laps, before Goss was finally able to take the lead. Once he had the top spot, Rocker fought back, but Rocker couldn’t find the power to get past Goss, then as the field headed under the checkered flag, Rocker lost second to Ray Hickok. The final top five were Goss, Hickok, Rocker, Jeff Sweeney and Corey Neal. Goss and Andy Klingensmith won the heats.

For the second time this season the Pure Stock feature was won after the victory lane ceremony ended. Adam Pletcher and Jim Hamilton led the field to the start, with Pletcher taking the lead and Justin Queen moving into second from his fourth place starting spot. On lap four, Queen took the lead after Pletcher went high in the fourth turn.

As the pair led, Matt Summers and Eric Ager battled for third, with the first caution waving on lap 10. On the restart, Pletcher jumped the restart, passing Queen as the pair sped away from the field Ager was able to get third from Summers, but another caution flew on lap 13 and Pletcher was docked two spots for jumping, this put Ager in second and he could not get past Queen the final three laps. At the line Queen was first, with Ager, Pletcher, Summers and Hamilton in the top five, but Queen was disqualified for his shocks while Pletcher was disqualified for his actions in front of the crowd. The new top five were Ager winning for the first time ever, with Summers now second, Hamilton third, Dave Day Jr., fourth and Matt Krause fifth. Heat wins went to Summers and Krause.

Ray Edwards jumped out to an early lead at the start of the Four Cylinder Sidewinder feature then it was Mike Phillipson who was sitting in second and was all over Edwards for the lead, but then on lap five, Phillipson took the lead and held off Edwards then Wild Bill Hassenplug until the 12th lap, when John Costa took the lead, but he couldn’t hold off Hassenplug, who took the lead on the final lap and took the victory. Chris Yoder was second, Sean Fitzpatrick was third, Jason Mullen was fourth and Costa was fifth. Heat wins went to Phillipson, Jack Theys and Tim Lamer.

The Modified Four Cylinders were led to the start by Mark Maglet and Rick Lamer, but it was Chris Hickok who led the first laps, with Jesse Laughard in second and Bob Pease quickly in third after starting 12th. The pair then passed Hickok for the lead and began to run side-by-side for the lead, with Pease taking the lead on lap seven and never looking back, as he went on to get his fourth straight win. Laughard was second with Maglet, Martin Visosky and Paul Little completing the top five. Heat wins went to Pease and Hickok.
