MIFFLINTOWN – The Clearfield Area High School baseball team made short work of a long trip by Friday, rolling past Juniata 15-0 in three innings in their Mountain League crossover make-up game.
Derek Danver ran his hitting streak to 11 games with a home run and two singles, while driving in four runs, to pace the Bisons’ 12-hit attack.
Jarrett Fulmer and Andrew Redden had pairs of hits and RBIs.
All three had two in in the first inning when Clearfield (6-7) sent 13 batters to the plate to give pitcher Tyler Jacobson a 9-0 cushion before he went to the mound.
Danver punctuated the outburst with a three-run homer, his fourth of the season.
Christian Lezzer singled across two runs, and Redden, Trevor Flanagan, Drew Brown and Fulmer had RBIs.
The Bisons came right back with six runs in the second inning, combining three hits with three walks and two Juniata errors.
Jacobson gave up three hits, struck out two and walked one.
Flanagan has hit safely nine games in a row, while Redden has hits in 10 of his last 11 games and Jacobson in nine of his last 10.
The Mercy Rule loss was the fifth in as many days by 15 or more runs for Juniata (0-15).
Clearfield will be at home Saturday for a 2 p.m. Mountain League Allegheny Division make-up game with Philipsburg-Osceola.
