Clearfield Boy’s Tennis Team Edged by Huntingdon

HUNTINGDON — The Clearfield Area High School boy’s tennis team wasn’t able to complete a season sweep of the Huntingdon Bearcats when they were narrowly beaten 4-3 by a team they had beaten 5-2 back on March 29.

With the loss, the Bisons dropped to 1-7 on the season.

Picking up the points for the Bisons were Cory Maines at number four singles, Jordan McAllister at number five singles, and the duo of Ryan Bower and Kunal Patel at number two doubles.

Clearfield will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Tyrone, a team that beat the Bisons 6-1 earlier in the season.

Singles Results:

1. Ian Bookhamer (Clfd) lost to Dylan Johnson (H) in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 1-6.
2. Kunal Patel (Clfd) lost to Micah Dowdy (H) in straight sets 1-6, 0-6.
3. Ryan Bower (Clfd) lost to Daniel Santos (H) in straight sets 3-6, 2-6.
4. Cory Maines (Clfd) beat Michael Metz (H) in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
5. Jordan McAllister (Clfd) beat Austin Forshe (H) in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. 

Doubles Results:

1. Ian Bookhamer and Jordan McAllister (Clfd) lost to Dylan Johnson and Michael Metz (H) in a proset 5-8.
2. Ryan Bower and Kunal Patel (clfd) defeated Micah Dowdy and Daniel Santos (H) in a proset 8-4.
