- A state police fire marshal investigation determined that a 603 Church St. fire was accidental in nature at 9:57 a.m. March 29 in Morris Township, Clearfield County. The fire reportedly destroyed a 12-foot by 80-foot mobile home. No injuries were reported; damage is estimated at $35,000. The American Red Cross assisted the family who was left homeless.
- Police reported an incident of public drunkenness at 3:25 a.m. Sunday outside a residence on Hale Street in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. A 39-year-old Clearfield woman was allegedly highly intoxicated and pounding on a door outside a residence. She was unable to speak clearly and advised to leave. A summary citation for public drunkenness was filed through the district court.
- A 22-year-old Hyde female was reportedly found under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. Sunday on River Road in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County. Charges are pending results of a blood test.
- Police reported an incident of burglary that occurred sometime between Dec. 20, 2010 and Feb. 18 on Creek Road in Boggs Township, Clearfield County. A person(s) allegedly entered a 53-year-old Clearfield woman’s residence and removed copper pipes from the heating system in the garage area.
- Police reported a two-vehicle accident at 2 p.m. Friday on the Allport Cutoff at Shiloh Road in Bradford Township, Clearfield County. Wendy Richner, 33, of Clearfield was traveling east on Shiloh Road, while a vehicle driven by John Bowes, 30, of Philipsburg was traveling south on the Allport Cutoff. The Richner vehicle wasn’t able to bring her vehicle to a stop and entered the Allport Cutoff in front of the Bowes vehicle. Bowes applied his brakes, but his vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Richner vehicle. Both Richner and Bowes suffered minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation. Police were assisted at the season by the Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Volunteer Fire Company and Clearfield emergency medical services.
