CLEARFIELD – The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield has announced that their search for a new logo has ended.  As announced in October, the Chamber held a logo design contest that was open to any Clearfield County resident, of any age, to enter a logo design or design sketch.

“We received several entries, and after much review and discussion, the Marketing & Special Events Committee of the Chamber’s Board of Directors chose the submission by Ian Aughinbaugh as our new logo” stated Executive Director, Amy Potter.

Aughinbaugh chose to use the Clearfield County outline, a river (representative of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River), Market Street Bridge and the Clearfield County Courthouse as the main imagery to work with to build the logo.

Aughinbaugh stated that “with this design there were a lot different imagery options and paths I could’ve taken with it as a whole.  I wanted to keep it relatively simple and immediately recognizable.”

“All of these pieces are relatively iconic pieces of Clearfield, make a strong statement and immediately establishes a sense of pride.  Another choice I made was to use the same tone of red as the old logo.  I felt it was important to keep things from straying too far and also due to the fact that the color is already associated with the Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield.  I enjoyed lending my services to the Chamber and am proud to be a part of this project.”

As the winner of the contest, Aughinbaugh will win the grand prize of $100 worth of Chamber Gift Checks, which are accepted at over 90 area businesses, and will get to see his design used in all newly printed Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield material into the future, as well as all other marketing applications.

The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield is a non-profit organization with the mission to be “committed to promoting and enhancing the greater Clearfield area economy, business environment, quality of life and community pride, now and in the future.”  To learn more about the Chamber visit www.clearfieldchamber.com or stop by 125 E.
