HARRISBURG – Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale, announced that he will remain a board member on the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority – PENNVEST – through the 2011-2012 legislative session.

“As our water and sewer infrastructure continues to deteriorate, it becomes increasingly important that our local municipalities receive the grants and loans necessary to fix or replace those pipelines, sewage treatment plants, and water systems,” George said.

As the Democratic Chairman of the House Environmental Resources & Energy Committee, George was appointed to the board by state Rep. Frank Dermody, D-33 of Allegheny County, Democratic Leader in the House.

“I look forward to continuing my service on the board and working towards bringing job-creating projects to Clearfield County,” George said.

George has served on the PENNVEST board since its creation in 1988 and has secured over $150 million for sewer, storm water, and drinking water projects throughout Clearfield County.
