Open Ice Skating on Thursday at Parker Dam

PENFIELD – On Jan. 6 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., there will be open ice skating under the lights at Parker Dam State Park.  So bring your skates and come enjoy a winter tradition on the frozen lake.  The lights will be on, music playing, and fire crackling for the comfort and enjoyment of visitors.  Normally the day-use area of the park closes at dusk, so take advantage of this opportunity.  The park has some skates of various sizes available for rental at $2.00 per pair for the entire three hours (may not be able to accommodate all visitors- first come, first served).  Some skating instruction may also be available, based on staff availability.

You can find more information about state park programs and special events by logging on to the Bureau of State Parks website at www.VisitPAParks.com , and clicking on “Calendar”.
