It has not been the kind of start the Clearfield Lady Bison basketball team had been hoping for.
Entering Wednesday night’s contest head coach Joey Castagnolo’s team had yet to gain a victory. In order to finally get their first win of the season, they had to do it on the road as they traveled to Tyrone to face the Lady Eagles.
Unfortunately, this night would not be the one that Clearfield would put a game in the win column. Tyrone was too much for the Lady Bisons as they went on to a 63-36 victory.
Olivia Stever led the Lady Eagles with 15 points, while both Nicole Gripp and Jordyn Swogger each added 12 points. Clearfield’s Dakota Farmery led all scorers with 18.
Now sitting at 0-4, the Lady Bisons have a week to regroup as their next game will be on December 28 when they host the Curwensville Lady Tide.
Tip off that evening will be at 6 p.m. for the junior varsity game at the Clearfield Area High School, with the varsity contest to immediately follow.
