Bisons Suffer 73-38 Loss to Huntingdon in Season Opener

HUNTINGDON – The Clearfield Area High School boys basketball team received a rather rude welcome to the Mountain League Monday night.

Center Jeremy Posey, one of two starters among 10 lettermen from the District 6 Class AAA runner-up squad, pumped in 29 points as Huntingdon spoiled the Bisons’ debut 73-38.

The 6-6 senior outscored the Bisons 19-18 in the first half, including nine of the Bearcats’ 10 points in the first quarter.

Huntingdon, which had too much height for Clearfield with five other players 6-2 or taller, led 35-18 at intermission and 55-32 after three quarters.

Andrew Redden and Robbie Myers tallied 13 and 12 points, respectively, for coach Forrest Campman’s Bisons.

Clearfield is booked for back-to-back road games against division foe Central at Martinsburg Thursday and DuBois Friday.

Huntingdon’s junior varsity also triumphed, 60-31. Trey Jordan and Johnnie Gaylor scored six points apiece for Clearfield.
