Marcellus Shale Year End Tax Planning Programs Offered

Have you received income from leasing and /or royalties in 2010? Need help figuring out how this income affects your taxes? Join us for year-end tax planning programs to outline options for sudden wealth management.

Penn State Cooperative Extension and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs will be holding three “Marcellus Shale and Year End Tax Planning” Programs across the state in December.  In each session, CPAs will cover year end tax planning strategies, such as opportunities for reducing taxable income, retirement plan contributions, timing of income and pending changes to tax laws for 2011.  An attorney at each session will discuss estate planning options.  In addition, a brief overview of Marcellus activity in the region will be provided. Questions will be readily answered by all speakers.

Programs will be held as follows:

  • Dec. 8 Bradford County – Wyalusing High School, Wyalusing PA.   Pre-register by calling  Bradford County Cooperative Extension as 570-265-2896.
  • Dec. 15 Lycoming County – Hughesville High School, Hughesville PA.  Pre-register by  calling Lycoming  County Cooperative Extension at 570-433-3040.
  • Dec. 15 Westmoreland County – Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, Greensburg PA.   Pre-register by calling Westmoreland Cooperative Extension at 724-837-1402.

All programs will start at 7:00 p.m. and end at approximately 9:30 p.m.  The programs are free of charge to all who are interested in having a better understanding of optimizing Marcellus wealth benefits now and in the future. In addition, program sponsors will be on hand to share information on financial planning.
