Penn State Rallies Past Northwestern For JoePa’s 400th Win

University Park, PA, United States (AHN) – Penn State rallied for three touchdowns in the third quarter and its defense posted a second half shutout, as the Nittany Lions overpowered Northwestern for a 35-21 comeback win in Happy Valley. The victory marked the 400th in the remarkable coaching career of JoePa.

The legendary coach trails only Eddie Robinson (408) at Grambling State for FCS wins.

Northwestern quarterback Dan Persa had his way with Penn State’s defense in the opening half, passing for over 200 yards and rushing for 109 more.

Penn State signal-caller Matt McGloin passed for 225 yards and four TDs as he put on his own show in the second half for the victors.

Brett Brackett, Nate Cadogan, Derek Moye and Evan Royster were on the receiving end of McGloin’s scoring strikes.

McGloin replaced Rob Bolden, who was lifted after getting sacked and fumbling the ball away early in the game.
