GANT Gridiron Challenge: Week 6

 The Last Word

Jay: “Clearfield should put the finishing touches on an undefeated regular season. The United-Glendale playoff game should be a good one. The Nittanies surprised me last week, but it won’t be as easy as you may think against Northwestern. Before the season who would have thought KC-Oakland would be a top game in the AFC this week?”

Chris: “Matt McGloin made me eat crow last week. The former walk-on was sharp in Penn State’s upset of Michigan. We’ll see if he can do it two weeks in a row — assuming JoePa lets him start, of course.”

Rusty: “Wow, last week was rough – I’m going back to picking by best uniform color.  We’ll see which Penn State and Steeler teams show up this week.  If the Lions play like last week, they’ll win; if the Steelers play like last week, they’ll lose.”

Dustin: “Watch for the Colts-Eagles game to be very interesting should Michael Vick return and start the game.  It gives the Eagles an entirely new dynamic because he’s shown he can pass the ball, but when in a jam, he can use those legs. Peyton Manning is still trying to get on track with his tight ends since losing Dallas Clark, but that explosive offense will be back at it in Philly.  I predict 3 TD passes and about 300 yards passing for No. 18.”

Dave: Clearfield is peaking at the right time and will not overlook Huntingdon on their way to the D-9 title game next week. Eagles have the Colts in a classic trap game – they are coming off a bye, while the Colts are on the road after a big Monday night divisional game. I was set to pick the Raiders until I heard their top cover corner, Nnamdi Asomugha, might not play this week. With him out or hobbled, their defense has no answer for Dwayne Bowe.”
