CENTRAL — The Clearfield Bison junior varsity football team did on Monday what the varsity team will be trying to do on Friday – finish with an undefeated season.
The Bison underclassman put their 7-0 record on the line against the Central Dragons and came home with a 21-8 victory to finish the season unblemished at 8-0.
Central was a quality opponent for the Bisons as the were able to keep the game scoreless through the first quarter.
The Bisons were able to crack the scoreboard when Dylan Graham scored on a 33-yard touchdown run. Coleman Kubala kicked the extra point to set the halftime score at 7-0.
Eric White had a second quarter fumble recovery to aid the defense in its quest for a fourth consecutive shut out.
In the third quarter Christian Lezzer scored on a 43-yard run, but Central was able to get on the board also. It was still a game at the end of the period, 14-8.
The Bisons were able to put the finishing touches on the game and season when Lezzer added a 1-yard touchdown and an interception in the final quarter.
Dylan Graham’s interception with 1:28 left in the game sealed the deal.
Graham led the running attack with 138 yards, while Lezzer added 121 yards to his two touchdowns.
The Bisons ended the season by outscoring their opponents 217-36 for the eight games.
