DUBOIS — The Curwensville Lady Tide volleyball team travelled to DuBois Central Catholic on Thursday night and earned a 3-0 sweep for the second time this year.
The scores were 25-20, 25-15, and 25-7.
Head coach Sandy Bailor handed out the praise for her team, which upped its record to 10-5 on the season, “I felt we played a good match tonight, it was a total team effort. We’ve switched a few things in the line up and the girls are adapting well with the changes. Rachel Michaels had a great night at the net – she was able to put alot of balls down on over passes. Taylor (Thornhill), Madison (Peterman) and Audrey (Thomas) did a nice job at the service line; we needed some service runs to keep the momentum going and they did that. The passing of Ricki Wells, Hannah Bressler and Abby Johnson was a great improvement for our defense and they worked well together and our outsides Savannah Strickland and Katrina Seaburn did a nice job.”

Audrey Thomas – 10 assists and 8 service points; Madison Peterman – 13 assists and 14 service points, Taylor Thornhill – 10 kills, 4 blocks, and 13 service points; Rachel Michaels – 16 kills, 2 blocks, and 5 service points; Ricki Wells – 19 digs, Hannah Bressler – 28 digs, Abby Johnson – 10 digs.
The junior varsity upped their record to 8-7 after a 2-0 sweep 25-20 and 25-17.
The Lady Tide will compete in the Elk County tournament on Saturday October 23.
They will then host Clearfield on “Think Pink” night Monday October 25 in their final home match. Come out and help the two local teams raise money for breast cancer.
