CURWENSVILLE — The Curwensville Lady Tide swept the Lady Rovers of Brockway in Patton Hall Monday by the scores of 25-12, 25-8, and 25-16 to raise their record to 6-1 on the season.
Afterwards head coach Sandy Bailor handed out the praise to her squad, “We played a good volleyball match this evening, we stayed focused, we were able to pass the ball well tonight so our setters Audrey (Thomas) and Madison (Peterman) could make some nice sets to our big hitters Taylor (Thornhill) and Rachel (Michaels) who did an excellent job making some hard hits. I was also able to get the girls some playing time off the bench, it was a great team effort.”
Taylor Thornhill had 13 kills, 5 blocks, and 12 service points with 5 aces; Rachel Michaels had 9 kills, 3 blocks, and 3 service points, Audrey Thomas had 14 assists and 5 service points with 2 aces; Madision Peterman had 10 assists and 9 service points with 2 aces; Ricki Wells had 17 digs and 8 service points with 4 aces; Savannah Strickland had 15 digs, 2 kills and 4 service points with 3 aces; and Hannah Bressler had 19 digs.
The Lady Tide will be back in action when they host Ridgway on Thursday.
The junior varsity also won with the scores of 26-24 and 25-22 to up their record to 4-3.
