CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield varsity football team defeated Indian Valley 28-7 on Friday night, but the junior varsity did them one better by blanking the Warriors 28-0.
The Bisons (3-0) came out firing on all cylinders in the first half by jumping out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter and then led by 28 at the half.
The second half saw numerous opportunities by both teams go by the wayside, as both teams failed to score.
Freshman quarterback Christian Lezzer once again led the Bisons in scoring by running for three scores and passing for another.
Aiding the shutout for the Bisons on the defensive side was Jake Verchick, who had two fumble recoveries. Trey Jordan and Ben Panebianco also recovered fumbles for the Bison “D”.
Seth Beardsley and Dylan Graham picked off passes to also help seal the shutout.
