CLEARFIELD — The Lady Tide volleyball team made the short trip to Clearfield a successful one as they swept the rival Lady Bisons 25-11, 25-11, and 25-15.
Team leaders for the Lady Tide were Rachel Michaels in kills with 14 followed by Taylor Thornhill’s 10. Assist leaders were Audrey Thomas and Madison Peterman who had 14 each. Hannah Bressler led with 16 digs followed by Ricki Wells with 13 and Savannah Strickland who had 7.
Head Lady Tide Coach Sandy Bailor had positives and negatives to point out after the match, “It was a good win for us; we had a long day on Saturday and played alot of volleyball and I was concerned about how we would come out to play this evening – again a full team effort. I was disappointed in our serving at times, we had too many serving errors, I am hoping that we can clean that up by this evening’s match against DCC.”
There was also praise for her foe, “Clearfield is a much improved team. Sara Fye is doing a great job with the girls.”
Curwensville also swept the Junior Varsity match two games to zero.
The Lady Tide upped their season record to 4-1, while the Lady Bisons dropped to 1-5.
Both squads will be in action Tuesday night as Curwensville hosts DuBois Central Catholic and Clearfield will be at home against Central Mountain.
