Punxsutawney — The Lady Tide volleyball team lost in three sets Thursday evening to the Punxsutawney Lady Chucks by the scores of 25-8, 25-12, and 25-21. It was Curwensville’s (3-1) first loss of the season.
Taylor Thornhill led the team with 7 kills and 3 blocks followed by Rachel Michaels’ 4 kills and 4 blocks, while Hannah Bressler had 20 digs.
Head coach Sandy Bailor commented after the loss, ” We were beaten tonight by a very good volleyball team; our first two games we weren’t focused, played flat footed, our passing was not there and had several service errors. Third game we relaxed and played a good volleyball game. We need to regroup and get back on the winning track beginning on Saturday at the West Branch tournament.”
As mentioned, the Lady Tide will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to West Branch High School to participate in the Annual Warror Blast Tournament. They will then make the short trip down river Monday night to face the rival Lady Bisons of Clearfield.
