TYRONE — The Clearfield girl’s tennis team made the trek to Tyrone a successful one on Tuesday when they knocked off the home team 4-3 in Mountain League play to pick up their first win of the season.
Clearfield (1-7) won three out of five of the singles matches, then managed a split in the doubles to pull out the win.
The Lady Bisons picked up key singles wins by their number one player Suzie Colesar, number three player Hillary Buck, and number five player Tori Hallstrom. Hallstrom’s match was the highlight of the day as she won a tight 7-5,9-7 match over Maria Aquadro.
The doubles win by Colesar and Sierra Grice sealed the deal.

Doubles Results:
Colesar/Grice 8-4 over Gummo/Taylor Miller 8-4; Roussey/Buck lost to Tompkins/Kelly Moore 6-8.
Clearfield will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to District 9 foe Punxsutawney.
