CURWENSVILLEL – On Saturday, the Clearfield County Conservation District held its inaugural Curwensville Dam Scramble at the lake and recreation area. The endurance trail race was held in conjunction with the Conservation Celebration.
As part of the challenge, participants had the opportunity to complete one loop around the lake, which is approximately 9.5 miles (15K), or two loops at approximately 19 miles (30K). The trails were mostly “single-track” through the woods.
During the nearly day-long celebration, attendees were presented with activities, which were for adults and children alike. Live animals, canoe and kayak demos, crafts and games were available to those in attendance.
All proceeds from the “Dam Scramble” will directly benefit the Conservation Education Fund. Those funds allow the CCCD to continue its educational programs that are held throughout the year.
