Clearfield Fall Ball Team Reigns in Labor Day Tourney

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Fall Ball Team swept three opponents to win its own Labor Day Wood Bat Tournament at the Lawrence Park Recreation Park Field.
 
Clearfield bested Brookville 12-2 Saturday and DuBois 11-8 and Moshannon Valley 16-3 Sunday.
 
Jarrett Fulmer, Trevor Flanagan and Ronny Ogden pitched complete six-inning games, while Flanagan, Kyler Kephart, Fulmer and Tyler Jacobson paced the offense.
 
Fulmer scatted four hits and struck out six against Brookville.
 
Kephart delivered the big blow, a three-run homer, and added a single. Fulmer and Flanagan chipped in with doubles.
 
Against DuBois in what proved to be the showdown for the title, Flanagan pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and also drove in three runs with a homer and a single.
 
Fulmer collected three hits, and Kephart and Christian Flood added two apiece.
 
Garret Peterson belted a three-run homer for DuBois.
 
Ogden stopped Mo Valley on three hits and was backed by a 14-hit attack led by Flanagan’s double and two singles and Jacobson’s three singles and four RBIs.
 
Drew Brown and Justyn Knepp each had two hits.
 
Chris Calliari and Zach Jasper doubled for Mo Valley.
 
In other games, DuBois shut out Mo Valley 11-0 and Brookville 21-0 and Mo Valley tumbled Brookville 17-1.
 
Clearfield returns to action Saturday with an 11 a.m. doubleheader against DuBois.
