Railroad Work in Port Matilda Delayed, Road Closure and Detour in Place

PORT MATILDA – Work on a Port Matilda railroad crossing has been postponed. Drivers will now encounter a road closure and a detour from July 30 through Aug. 2 in the village of Port Matilda.

Crews from the Bald Eagle—Nittany Railroad will be working to make crossing upgrades on the High Street railroad crossing near the Port Matilda borough building. High Street is state Route 3017 and the road will be closed to through traffic from the railroad tracks to SR 550 near Stormstown. A detour will be in place during the closure and it will direct drivers to use SR’s 3040 (old Route 220), 3042 (old Route 322), and 550.
