PUNXSUTAWNEY – Late afternoon rains washed out the Jefferson County Legion League Playoff opener between Clearfield and Punsutawney Friday.
The Chiefs, who finished third with an 11-8 record, will return to Rich Kuntz Field Saturday. The first pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
The rainout means second round action, the winner’s bracket final and the elimination bracket quarterfinal, will be played Sunday, which was originally scheduled as an off day.
Because Clearfield will be the host team, the Chiefs are guaranteed a berth in the Region 7 Tournament beginning July 17 even if they don’t win the JCL championship.
