PHILIPSBURG – Two people trapped in a dumbwaiter at the Philips Hotel were rescued early Sunday morning.
According to the state police in Philipsburg, a 37-year-old man from Georgia and 27-year-old woman Punxsutawney were staying at the Philips Hotel. They climbed into the dumbwaiter on the seventh floor and began to descend to the first floor. On their way, the dumbwaiter became stuck.
Hope Fire and Rescue was brought on scene, where members of the company pried open the doors to the dumbwaiter, freeing the two trapped inside.
Charges or disorderly conduct were filed.
