- Police are investigating an incident of bad checks that were written to Rick’s Used Auto Parts in Kersey. The person purchased an item for $300 but the account did not have sufficient funds. A person from Rick’s Auto Parts tried to contact the person responsible for the check but they failed to make good on the check.
- Police are investigating a one-vehicle accident that occurred on state Highway 255 in Jay Township of Elk County. Caleb J. Benson, 19 of Port Allegheny, received moderate injuries after he fell asleep at the wheel of the 1998 Honda CRV he was driving. Benson veered into the northbound lane and went off the roadway, hitting a tree with the front left end. The CRV came to a final stop facing east. The vehicle was towed from the scene by D&T Towing. Benson was transported to ERHC for injuries sustained in the crash. Police were assisted by Jay Township Fire Department, Benetts Valley Ambulance, Saint Mary’s Ambulance, and Penfield Fire Department.
