Shaw Library Summer Reading Program Starts Monday

CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library kicks off its annual summer reading program on June 14 with a splash.  The Party at the Boardwalk event will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with carnival games and activities for children of all ages.

For those participants who have already registered online for the Make a Splash @ Your Library summer reading program, the kickoff event is the first opportunity to pick up the registration packet.  Each registration packet includes a brochure of activities and events scheduled throughout the summer.  In addition, any child who registers and picks up the registration packet by June 18th will be entered into a drawing to win the kickoff grand prize.

On June 14, children can begin reading and logging the books and minutes in order to earn incentives.  All prizes can be redeemed at the Riverview Boardwalk store beginning July 12.

The summer reading program is open to all children ages birth through high school.  In addition, adults and recent high school graduates may also register for the adult summer reading program.  All registrations for the summer reading program must be completed online at Shaw Public Library’s website.  Participants may continue to register for the summer reading program online throughout the summer and visit the library to pick up their registration packet.   Patrons without access to the Internet or with concerns about the new online registration may come to the library during normal business hours to receive assistance with the registration process.

The Shaw Public Library is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Fridays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.  For questions about the Make a Splash @ Your Library summer reading program, please visit the library or call 814 765-3271.  Additional information can also be found on Shaw Public Library’s Web site.
