Local Lifters Compete at ADAU State Meet

Father and son , Al and Jay Siegel, traveled to Lehighton PA this past weekend to compete in the Anti-Drug Athletes United (ADAU) 
Pennsylvania state powerlifting championships.

The ADAU sanctions meets in which all competitors lift without the use of  any supportive gear or strength inducing drugs.

They competed as part of the Keystone Ironmen team which earned second place honors.

Jay, competing in the 45-49 year old 181# class, totalled 1000#, earning him first place honors. His lifts included a 355# squat, 210# bench press and a 435# deadlift.

Al competed in the 70-74 year old  242# class and managed to exceed three of his own American master records with his first place finish.  His 200# squat and 285# 
deadlift, along with a total of 630# were all new American master records.  His other lift was a 145# bench press.

The ADAU’s next contest will be in Johnstown PA on Saturday February 20th with Jay planning on lifting in the deadlift portion of the meet.
