Brookville – The Clearfield Bison wrestling team ran its season record to 13-0 Saturday night with a convincing 50-18 beat down over the Brookville Raiders.
Brookville had a short-lived lead on the night as Jacob Shields pinned Clearfield 189 pound junior Cliff Hill in 5:32.
Andre Buck tied the score at six with his 2:55 fall over Madison Shobert at 215.
Brookville actually held a slim 9-6 lead as the match “turned the corner” after their heavyweight beat Ryan Renaud 4-2 in overtime.
Christian Stone made his first appearance of the season at 103, after 24 wins at 112, a successful one by pinning Trey Constable in 1:38 to give Clearfield a lead they would never give back.
Shane Peters got his team-leading 26th victory via fall at 112.
Defending district champ Brett Smith was able to handle freshman Nolan Barger 9-4 at 119.
Brookville wasn’t able to field a full team as Kodie Lowder, Troy Danver, and Andrew Hill each picked up wins in the next three weights the easy way by receiving forfeits.
Cody Lansberry notched Clearfield’s last fall of the night at 140 to set the team score at 42-12.
Shane Harper bumped back up to 145 only to be decisioned in overtime 5-3.
Derek Danver put on an offensive display at 152 by tech falling Mitch Minich 22-6.
At 160 Wil Beauseigneur was decisioned 8-3.
Senior Logan Shadeck rounded out the scoring by winning 9-3 at 171.
Clearfield won’t take to the mats until next Saturday’s District 9 Team Wrestling Championships at DuBois High School.
