SHIPPENVILLE – Two new teams have cracked the Top 10 overall in both girls’ and boys’ basketball in the third edition of the RRR Roadhouse/D9Sports.com District 9 boys’ and girls’ basketball rankings for the 2009-2010 season.
On the girls’ side, Kane (12-3) and Punxsutawney (4-8) move into the Top 10 with Clarion and Otto-Eldred each dropping out after disappointing losses last week, while in the boys’ rankings Brookville (9-4) and Cameron County (9-4) move into the Top 10 with Cranberry and Ridgway both dropping out after combing to go 1-4 over the course of the week.
The biggest change in the girls’ overall Top 10 comes with DuBois moving up four spots from No. 10 to No. 6 after a 3-0 week, while in the boys’ rankings North Clarion jumps two spots from No. 5 to No. 3 after losses by No. 3 Elk County Catholic (now No. 5) and No. 4 DuBois Central Catholic (still at No. 4).
In the Class-by-Class rankings, the Bradford boys and St. Marys girls are still on top in Class AAAA/AAA, the Kane boys and Cranberry girls are still on top in Class AA and the A-C Valley boys and West Forest girls are at the head of the class in Class A. There are two new members of the Class A rankings with Coudersport moving in at No. 10 on the boys’ side and Cameron County in at No. 10 on the girls’ side.
These are the third RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com rankings for the 2009-2010 season. Rankings will be released every weekend until early February. The rankings are neither affiliated nor endorsed by the PIAA or PIAA District 9 and are not used in determining postseason berths or seeding.
