SHIPPENVILLE – There is a new No. 1 overall team in District 9 girls’ basketball this week, while the top four remains the same on the boys’ side according to the second edition of the RRR Roadhouse/D9Sports.com District 9 boys’ and girls’ basketball rankings for the 2009-2010 season.
Cranberry, which is coming off a win over No. 3 West Forest last week, moves into the top spot which was held by St. Marys a week ago. The Lady Dutch fall to fourth after Saturday’s loss to now No. 5 Elk County Catholic. West Forest moves up one spot into No. 2 and Keystone jumps two spots to No. 3.
On the boys’ side, Bradford remains No. 1 followed by A-C Valley, Elk County Catholic and DuBois Central Catholic with North Clarion jumping up two spots to round out the top five.
In the Class-by-Class rankings, all the No. 1 teams remain in place in both the boys’ and girls’ rankings with Bradford (boys) and St. Marys (girls) at the top of Class AAAA/AAA. Kane (boys) and Cranberry (girls) at the head of Class AA and A-C Valley (boys) and West Forest (girls) leading the way in Class A.
These are the second RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com rankings for the 2009-2010 season. Rankings will be released every weekend until early February. The rankings are not affiliated nor endorsed by the PIAA or PIAA District 9 and are not used in determining postseason berths or seeding.
