Bison Grapplers Claim Big Dog Title

Brockway — The Clearfield Bisons used a strong second day to claim their first ever Big Dog Wrestling Tournament title. After being in third place after pool wrestling on Monday, five finalists led the Bisons (374.5 points) to a close win in the three-team race for the title over Butler (370.5) and Saegertown (366.5).

Claiming tournament titles were Shane Peters at 103, Derek Danver at 152, and Cliff Hill at 189. Runners-up were Christian Stone at 112 and Nolan Barger at 119. Earning silver medals were Logan Shadeck at 171 and Andre Buck at 285. Fourth place finishers were Kodie Lowder at 125 and Wil Beauseigneur at 160. At 130, Max Von Gunden tied for fifth and a sixth place finish was Shane Harper at 145

Head coach Jeff Aveni was pleased with his team\’s second day performance, \”…we wrestled much better today (Tuesday) than yesterday. We beat kids today who beat us yesterday (in pool matches). This team looks like it may be ready to \’take the next step\’ and be a really good team.\”
