Motor-Vehicle Accident in DuBois Likely Caused by Alcohol, Road Conditions and Speed

DUBOIS – According to the DuBois City Police Department, an accident in DuBois on Sunday was most likely caused by alcohol, speed and road conditions.

The accident occurred at 2:06 am. at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and First Street. The call-out was for a vehicle that had overturned. When officers arrived they found the 1998 Jeep Cherokee upright on its wheels with the driver and passenger still inside. Both were treated at the scene then transported to DRMC.

According to police the vehicle was traveling west on DuBois Avenue when the driver lost control and struck the curb. That caused the vehicle to overturn and come to rest back on its wheels.

DUI charges are pending.
