CRC Unveils New Logo

CLEARFIELD – The definition of revitalization is: to give new life, energy, activity or success to something. The Clearfield Revitalization Corporation sees this opportunity with Clearfield and wants to make the most of it. The CRC started the revitalization process with the vision: “Leading revitalization of the All-American People, Places and Spirit of Clearfield, PA.”

The next step was to create a logo symbolizing the CRC’s vision, and to convey the vision as a promise that the citizens of Clearfield can believe in.

With the help of Ian Aughinbaugh, a local freelance graphics designer, they did just that. The CRC proudly unveils the new logo, one that represents moving forward with the revitalization efforts to bring out the very best of Clearfield. This effort is similar to when Clearfield was designated as an All-American City in 1966.

In the logo, Aughinbaugh outlined buildings that are unique to Clearfield that represent the all-American values: liberty and justice, faith and prosperity. Aughinbaugh featured: the Clearfield County Courthouse, Trinity United Methodist Church and the Dimeling. Adding his personal touch, Aughinbaugh included the Market Street Bridge and the Susquehanna River, which highlights the uniqueness of our town and increases our sense of place in Clearfield.

The logo was designed exclusively by Aughinbaugh, a graduate from DuBois Business College in June 2009 with a degree in their entertainment production business program. His family originated in Clearfield and he called Clearfield “home” for many years.

CRC Main Street Manager Kellie Truman said, “This revitalization process is an opportunity to reinvent ourselves, our community. It is about capturing the beauty and worth of everything Clearfield is and then making other people realize it too. Clearfield is blessed to have people like Ian who are stepping forward and donating their gifts and talents for the betterment of our home.

“Ian gave the gift of art. I believe this principal of everyone working together and giving for the benefit of the community is what has allowed the CRC to progress as far as it has. This is what America is all about, and this is what we want Clearfield to express: The very best of the ‘All-American People, Places and Spirit of Clearfield, PA.’”
