Bisons Run All Over Rams 42-6

After last week\’s disappointing loss to Bald Eagle Area the Bisons were in desperate need to make a statement; and Monday night they did just that.  Clearfield quarterback Curtis Frye scored four rushing touchdowns en route to a 42-6 Bison victory over Penns Valley.

The Bison defense made themselves known early by forcing a three and out on the Ram\’s first possession.  Clearfield\’s defense didn\’t allow a first down until late in the first half, forcing three and outs on the Rams first four possessions.

On the Bisons ensuing drive they marched 70 yards and capped off that march by Frye\’s first score of the night a – 1 yard plunge on 4th down.  The Bisons however missed the extra point try as starting kicker Chad Zurat was unavailable for the Bisons during the first quarter due to the Bisons Soccer team having a game Monday night as well.

Things went south quickly for the Rams as a bad center-quarterback exchange lead to a fumble and Frye added his second score of the night, this time from two yards out.  After  a successful 2-point try the Bisons lead 14-0.

After another three and out by Penns Valley, the Bisons took the field and scored quickly.  Frye called his own number twice breaking off a 40-yard run then scoring on a 12-yard scamper.  After a successful PAT by Zurat the Bisons lead 21-0 just seconds in the 2nd quarter.

Another fumble on the Rams following possession lead to a 12-yard Derek Morgan touchdown run to make the score 28-0. Frye would add one more touchdown with little over a minute remaining in the half to put the Bisons up 35-0.

In the second half many Bison reserves saw time with sophomore running back Beau Swales leading the way scoring the lone Bison touchdown of the half with a 10-yard score.

The Rams finally got on the board in the fourth quarter against the Bisons JV\’s with an 88-yard run by Kody Bjalme.

The Bisons will be back on the road Saturday when they travel to Central to take on the undefeated and state-ranked Dragons.

Notes:  Frye attempted only nine, passes his lowest total of the season…wideout Trey Campman\’s streak of  six straight games with a receiving touchdown ended…Dustin Kemp recorded two consecutive sacks at the end of the first half….
