LTE: Question for Mayor Patty Gilliland

I would like to pose a question to the Mayor Patty Gilliland. I am very confused as to why you need access to the police department’s evidence room and other areas of the police department. I understand that you do in deed need access to your office and the restrooms. But what is that is in the evidence room or other places of the police department that you so desperately need access to? I cannot see how not having access to evidence or other areas could hinder your ability to do your job!

What causes me the most anger is that YOU have spent $5,172.50 of our money fighting this frivolous lawsuit! There are members of this community that cannot afford school clothes for their children or to purchase a car to get back and forth to work but you believe as mayor that you are justified in spending $5,172.50 in tax dollars because you want access to police records? Mayor Gilliland I wonder if you had to pay these legal expenses out of your pocket how important it would be for you to have access to these records? Honestly, I am sorry that I ever voted for you and I know there are many other members of this community that feel the same! Please stop wasting OUR tax dollars!!

Regards,
Denny S. Bailey
