LTE: Spending Other People’s Money

It is hard to make ends meet in the country. Especially in small rural area, like Clearfield. The Federal, State, and Local governments have seen many money woes, with rising costs, and budgets. Many taxpayers are up against the wall, knowing that they have to save every penny, and use that penny wisely, to make ends meet. There will not be as much help from the governments as there had been.

As a Clearfield Borough taxpayer, a person who pays Franchise Fees to the Borough through the Local Cable Company, and employed in the Borough, I pay this money, one way or another to the Borough.

I feel that there are other things that our monies can be used for, other than having a Mayor who is taking the Borough to court.

When you look at the figure, close to $ 5,000.00, does she ever stop and think that this amount of money is the income of three or four months for some people. In this area the older people on Social Security, make an average of $ 1,200.00 per month or less. They have to pay their monthly bills, get groceries, medicine, heating fuel, and gas for the vehicles, and pray and hope that there are no emergencies that would change the way they budget their money. They also pay taxes.

The people are reading this in the newspaper, and can not understand why, someone would spend money that is not theirs to try to make a point.

When election time comes in November, I personally will not make the same choice I did in the last election for Mayor.
