Bucky Strunk Field — After two nights in a row with inclement weather, the Old Town Softball League resumed their post season on Wednesday night.
In a game suspended by rain on Monday night with a score of 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd inning, Bob Boob Garage (BBG) held off the SOI 4-2.
Bob Culp was the pitching star for Boob\’s, limiting the potent SOI squad to no earned runs.
Rich Stewart was the hitting star, knocking in two runs on a two out single to knot the score and then hitting a solo home run in the late innings.
Terry Potter was the losing pitcher for SOI.
The second game of the night saw Jeff Tomb of Buster\’s Sports Bar and Dak Rea of Moyer\’s Auto Body battle in a pitcher\’s duel.
Tomb\’s 13 strikeouts and Todd Stiners two hits was enough for Buster\’s to post the 3-0 win.
The final game of the night saw Moyer\’s eliminate Jim\’s Sports Center by an 11-1 score. Mike Greene picked up the win, while Randy Sones was saddled with the loss.
Playoff action continues Thursday night with consolation bracket action.
The early game will feature the Eagles and SOI. The nightcap will be Moyer\’s facing the Eagles – SOI winner.
The playoffs will be on hiatus until Monday night because of the \”over 40\” tournament at Strunk field on Saturday and Sunday.
