Clearfield Borough Council Members Address Item in Mayor’s Report

CLEARFIELD – On Thursday Clearfield Borough Council members responded to an item listed in Mayor Patty Gilliland’s report.

In her report, Gilliland states, “I am also opposed to any taxpayer’s dollars being used to help fund a private party at Councilman Wisor’s camp this weekend for council members and borough employees, unless all borough taxpayers are invited.

“President (Jim) Leitzinger opposed moneys being spend on a re-organization reception a-year-and-a-half ago for new council members … press … and public (I paid for this myself) therefore, I do not see how council can justify this spending.”

Wisor responded after the meeting when asked by the press, stating that no taxpayer money will be spent for the party. He said those attending were asked to bring a covered dish, and that he would provide the paper products.

Council member Susan Reed said she believed it would be a good unity-building opportunity for council members and the employees.
