Downtown Weightlifting Club to Sponsor ADAU Nationals at Driving Park This Weekend

The Downtown Weightlifting Club of Clearfield, PA and Siegel Engraving will be hosting the Anti Drug Athletes United, Inc. (ADAU) Raw Power Powerlifting and Single Lift National Championships at the Clearfield Driving Park Expo I building on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12.

All competitors are subject to performance enhancing drug testing, and are not permitted to use supportive gear, other than a lifting belt.

Over 100 lifters from as far away as Michigan, Virginia and Connecticut and all states in between will converge on Clearfield.  Lifters both male and female ranging in age from 7 to 80 will be competing for National Honors and records.

Included in the list of contestants are several area lifters: Allan Siegel, Doug Mignot, Rod Rishel, Rev. Matt Holbert, all from Clearfield, Bugs Bayer of Rockton and Dennis Raybuck of Falls Creek.

Several teenage lifters representing both Pennridge and Bald Eagle Area High Schools will be in attendance competing for team honors.

There will be a small admission fee collected with food being sold by members of St. John Lutheran Church.

Lifting starts at 9:00 AM both days and should go until mid to late afternoon both days.

Don Reinhoudt, of Worlds Strongest Men Fame, will be present to meet people and will to give a little talk to the audience.
