PORT ALLEGANY – The District 9 Class AAA baseball championship game between Clearfield and Punxsutawney is set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Brockway High School Field, District 9 Baseball Committee chairman Tony Flint announced Friday.
The Bisons and Chucks traded home District 9 Northern Allegany League Big School Division wins during the regular season.
No. 1 seed Punxsy (13-5) eked out a 5-4 victory in nine innings on April 16, while No. 2 seed Clearfield (11-8) prevailed 14-9 on May 7.
The Bisons earned the extra game against the Chucks by virtue of their eight-inning, 5-4 win over No. 3 seed St. Marys Wednesday.
Clearfield and Punxsutawney finished in a tie with DuBois for first place with 7-3 records in the D9NAL\’s first season.
