The purpose of the Fair Queen Program is to encourage the promotion of county fairs and Pennsylvania’s number one industry, agriculture. The position of Clearfield County Fair Queen is an honor and a job that is to be held to the highest standards and taken with great responsibility. The Clearfield County Fair Queen is recognized as one of the most prestigious in Pennsylvania. Over the past 20 years, the program has benefited many young ladies. It will help the individual to mature and be much better prepared to enter the business world. Numerous past Queens and contestants attribute their success to the program. All contestants will benefit by participating regardless of placement in final competition.

The Fair Queen Committee members are dedicated to help encourage each candidate to reach their full potential. The committee is comprised of adults from various professional backgrounds along with several past Queens including one past State Fair Queen, two first runner-ups and several top five finalists. Each is very eager to assist any candidate that requests it. Throughout the process the committee will endeavor to educate all candidates about the Clearfield County Fair and the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives.

The committee wishes to stress that this is not a beauty or talent contest. They are looking for that one special person that can best represent Clearfield County to promote our Fair and agriculture throughout Pennsylvania. The Queen and her Court will serve as goodwill ambassadors year round and during fair week by greeting visitors, meeting various artists from the entertainment industry and presenting awards. Their duties do not end at midnight Saturday night. They will continue their agriculture education by attending Ag Progress Days and getting involved in other events scheduled by the Fair and Park Board.

Their commitment to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network as well as any special needs locally will keep them very busy.

Monetary awards are offered as follows: Queen will receive $500.00, 1st runner up $200.00, 2nd runner up $100.00. If ten or more contestants compete in the final completion, 3rd and 4th runners up will be chosen and awarded $50.00 and $25.00 respectively. The first meeting for all entries will be held in Expo II Building outside the Fair Queen Office at 6:30 p.m., June 8. All contestants must attend this meeting to receive further information on the contest.
