BELLEFONTE – Three Bellefonte pitchers combined for a two-hitter in a five-inning 12-0 Senior Day win over Clearfield in scholastic softball non-league action Friday afternoon.
Melinda Owens and Suzie Colesar had singles for the short-handed Lady Bisons, who were missing four regulars because of non-school commitments.
Emily Dauberman notched the victory after holding Clearfield hitless and striking out six in three innings. Raychel DeArmitt and Alexandra Stathes completed the shutout.
Freshman Tristan Lewis was tagged for 12 hits in her second start for Clearfield (3-10).
Bellefonte (11-5), the No. 2 seed for the upcoming District 6 Class AAA Playoffs, had five extra base blows, including triples by senior Brianna Faust, Hannah Cooper and Devon Etters.
Alyssa Stahly, the only other Lady Raider senior, and Danielle Gomola doubled.
The Lady Bisons will close the season with six games in eight days, weather permitting.
They begin a five-game week Monday when Central Mountain visits the Bison Sports Complex.
Additional home games will be Wednesday with Brookville and Saturday with Punxsutawney in an 11:00 am start.
Clearfield goes to Bradford Tuesday and Altoona Friday.
