We want to cordially invite all youth between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age as of January 1st, to take part in a wonderful opportunity to become self-directed, productive, and contributing members of a diverse society. 4-H is a non-formal youth development educational program of Penn State Cooperative Extension that helps youth obtain vital life skills that they will use all throughout their life. With a motto of “To Make the Best Better,” the 4-H program empowers youth to realize their full potential by taking part in a variety of activities throughout the county, region, and state. 4-H is a community of young people who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills, so I encourage all of you to come see what we have to offer in the 18 4-H clubs located throughout Clearfield County.
2009 Pennsylvania 4-H Awareness Week will be taking place Sunday, March 15 through Saturday, March 21. 4-H members have been decorating windows of local businesses throughout Clearfield County to promote the 4-H program and encourage new members to join.
On Tuesday, March 17, the 4-H program will hold its Annual 4-H Kick-off Skating Party at the Skate Station of Clearfield from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All youth interested in joining or learning more about the 4-H program are encouraged to attend. We ask for youth to bring canned good or other non-perishable items to donate to local food banks.
On Saturday, March 21, the Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council will host an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast at the Dutch Pantry of DuBois (conveniently located off of Interstate 80 – Exit 97) from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The cost is $5.00 per person with 10% of all bills and all tips benefiting the Clearfield County 4-H Program. Come out for breakfast and get served by one of very own Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council members. While you are there – you will have the opportunity to sign up for a GAS GRILL, which will be given out on April 1st!
