JOHNSONBURG – Abby Grumley pumped in 28 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau and lead Johnsonburg past Curwensville 58-35 in an Allegheny Mountain League girls basketball crossover game Tuesday night.
The senior forward scored 14 points in the first half and accounted for 10 of the Ramettes\’ 12 points to enter the fourth quarter one point away from the milestone.
She got that on the first of two foul shots early in the final period.
Bobbi Pritt added 14 points for the Ramettes, who have won seven of their last eight games for an 11-4 record. They have locked up the AML North Division\’s second playoff berth.
Hannah Walls was high scorer for the Lady Tide with 11 points.
The Lady Tide, now 0-14, goes on the road again Thursday for a Moshannon Valley League game against West Branch and then will host the Ramettes in a rematch Friday night.
Johnsonburg also won the junior varsity game, 39-26. Courtney Bachelier scored 11 points for Curwensville.
