The key to winning a basketball game is simple, put the ball in the hoop. Monday night in the Clearfield Bisons season opener against Harmony they did just that. Senior guards Matt Shiner and Jarrin Campman lead the way for the Bison cagers scoring 25 and 22 points respectively.
Campman and Shiner weren\’t the only scoring threats for the Bisons as the squad was able light up the scoreboard with 89 points and hold a high scoring Harmony team to only 46 points. Ten different Bison players were able to score in the game.
The Bisons got things going early with baskets by Shiner and Campman who both were able to score ten points in the first period. The Bisons went on their early run and there was no looking back as they did not trail at any single point in the game.
Clearfield used their high paced fast break offense to get open shot after open shot which no matter whoever shot it the ball seemed to go in hole. Perhaps the most fascinating stat of the night was that the Bisons managed to only turn the ball over ten times while running an offense prone to turning the ball over, with much credit going to the play of point guard Parker Herrington.
Clearfield will be home again Friday night to take on District 9 rival St. Marys.
