RIDGWAY – Curwensville went more than six minutes without a point in the second quarter, and Ridgway zoomed to a 26-10 halftime lead on its way to a 44-24 victory in Allegheny Mountain League South Division girls basketball action Friday night.
Hannah Walls accounted for five of the Lady Tide\’s eight field goals and made all six of her foul shots for a game-high 16 points.
Emily Mitchell scored 13 points, all but two coming in the first half, as the Lady Elkers matched last season\’s win total after starting with three setbacks.
Curwensville fell to 0-2, both losses in the AML-South.
The Lady Tide swings into Moshannon Valley League action next week with road games against Glendale Wednesday and Harmony Friday.
Ridgway\’s junior varsity also was victorious 26-13.
