LTE: Breakfast in Philipsburg

I am writing in reference to the article in the Progress dated Oct 15. I don’t know if it is arrogance or ignorance on the part of the owners of the Philips Hotel, Faith Lucchesi and Tony DeBoef, stating that there is no place for breakfast in Philipsburg. As manager of the American Diner I have been serving breakfast for the last 23 1/2 years.

We serve breakfast all day. In addition to the American Diner there are other places that serve breakfast like Bock’s and the Little Restaurant, you can even get breakfast items at Sheetz and Minit Mart. This might not be important to them, but it is important to me. Now with the issue of them applying for a 1 million dollar freebie, with Commissioners whole heartedly approving the application. It makes me wonder if it is who you know and not what you know.

Are the commissioners and the owners friends? I couldn’t tell you but it makes me concerned. It might not be significant to other people about the statement “there is no place to have breakfast in Philipsburg”, but I find it offensive Mr. DeBoef.
