Curwensville Golden Tide (3-1) at Brockway Rovers (2-2)

It is all about redemption for the Curwensville Golden Tide as Coach Andy Evanko and the squad travel to Brockway to face Frank Varischetti and the Rovers.

Last year, in Coach Varischetti\’s first season with Brockway, the Rovers defeated the Tide 35-20, which was only the second time Brockway defeated Curwensville in nine years since both teams joined the Allegheny Mountain League.

Brockway is coming off a 51-20 thrashing of the Otto-Eldred Terrors in which quarterback Derek Buganza had a great night throwing the football, going 21 of 32 for 365 yards and four touchdowns.  Two of those touchdowns went to Ben Kuhar, who went on to score three more touchdowns, one offensive, one defensive, and one on the opening kickoff.

The Golden Tide defeated Otto 48-12 in week 2.

Curwensville is not only out  to redeem itself from its loss last year to Brockway, but also redeem themselves from a heartbreaking 23-20 double overtime loss last week against the Cameron County Red Raiders.

The Golden Tide are looking to regain momentum after turning the ball over six times, four on fumbles, to the Red Raiders.  David Kalgren is looking to improve on his performance, going 14 of 28 with one touchdown and two interceptions.  Jed Greslick, who provided the two touchdowns for Curwensville to tie the game, looks to rebound after being held to 40 yards against Cameron County.

This matchup between two exciting offensive squads is set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday night.
